Recently I've noticed that "Bleach Bypass has returned to the app store with version 2.0". The first version of the app appeared in 2011 and gained good reviews. For example,
Bleach Bypass is the first photo application from Fotosyn, which promises to deliver high quality image processing and a range of cinematic effects. The app itself is named after the development process of colour film, which skips bleaching and removes the silver in the emulsion. The resulting effects are desaturated colours, the option of heavy vignetting and plenty of lovely contrast. IT'S ALL ABOUT PHOTO APPS
"Bleach Bypass is a simple to use, one touch app, that supports full-res with a number of predefined 'Bleach Bypass' effects, with or without borders." iPhoneography.com
So I decided to take a look at the updated version of Bleach Bypass and use it to edit a scenery photo and a few simple portraits, observing how the app works with the contrast between light (skin) tones and dark (fabrics) colors.
Bleach bypass, also known as skip bleach or silver retention, is an optical effect which entails either the partial or complete skipping of the bleaching function during the processing of a color film. By doing this, the silver is retained in the emulsion along with the color dyes. The result is a black-and-white image over a color image. The images usually have reduced saturation and exposure latitude, along with increased contrast and graininess. Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Relaunching My Gallery
I'm going to relaunch my gallery on DeviantArt.
As in the previous days, I photograph nature for the most part. I keep using HDR technique which promotes a photo camera from a registration device to a specialized extension able to expand the abilities of the human eye. I also take portraits and do self-portraits. A portrait becomes a biography, and a self-portrait becomes a confession (cf. [1]), if you put a little effort into making them.
I pose nude. My reason is to follow the early photographers, who wanted to "document their own bodies" and "add themselves to the range of body types available for the larger benefit of art and science" [

Nude Humanity
Animals don't wear clothes. We learnt it from early childhood. At three years old, you could keep asking why your cat didn't wear "some clothes" [1]. You could even get a scientific answer: "animals don’t wear clothes because, for the most part, they are still restricted to climates where they don’t need them" [2]. If you are a little older, you may begin to ask yourself whether taking off clothes brings a man or a woman closer to an animal or even "crosses border" between a human being and an animal.
Once Jacques Derrida [3], a French philosopher, found himself frontally naked "faced with cat's eyes looking" at him "from head to
Brain's Priorities: Nude Bodies
The understanding of the visual processing mechanisms in human brain provides clues to human behavior. For the brain networks, "human faces and bodies are complex and interesting perceptual objects" [1]. How similar are the mechanisms used to recognize faces and bodies, and why is it important?
A psychological study done at the University of Texas in 2013 revealed that "people do better at facial recognition when the whole person, not just the face, is presented". It appears that "when faces are partially obscured or difficult to differentiate, subtle body cues allow people to identify others with surprising accuracy" [2].
